Top Prospects

Over the course of the next several days, PG Crosschecker will identify the top prospects that played in the nation’s elite summer college leagues in 2007. Through personal observation, contact with scouts and input from league managers, we’ll focus on those players who have a chance to succeed at the next level—and beyond. The depth of prospect information provided will vary according to the relative strength of each league. In the Cape Cod League alone, we’ll rank in order the top 100 prospects.

Summer 16

Y-D Runs Table, Wins Cape Title

The Yarmouth-Dennis Red Sox left little doubt they were the nation’s premier college summer league team in 2007. Ranked No. 1 in PG Crosschecker’s initial Summer 16 rankings, the Red Sox maintained their summer-long grip atop the rankings by running away with the Cape Cod League’s Eastern Division regular-season standings and clinched the top spot in the final ranking of the year by winning four straight playoff games. The Cape Cod League title was Y-D’s third in four years.
