Mike Roberts has had a front-row seat to see almost all the elite talent that has passed through the Cape Cod League for most of the last 25 years. In his mind, Cotuit first baseman Justin Smoak is the best all-around talent he has ever seen play in the league.

Late Surge Pushes Y-D to Cape Title, No. 1 Ranking
Yarmouth-Dennis righthander David Robertson was overshadowed most of the 2006 Cape Cod League season by teammate and all-star closer Josh Fields, but like his team he saved the best for last and was justly rewarded.

PG's Blaine Clemmens takes a closeup look at the talent available for Team USA's junior national team
After scouting the single most impressive display of amateur baseball talent ever assembled at the 2006 Perfect Game National Showcase, I made the 70 minute drive up to Joplin (MO) to scout the first three days of USA Baseball’s Tournament of Stars.  Of the 106 ’07 grads in Joplin, 67 of them were at PG National, meaning that I had the opportunity to see some of the nation’s best ’07 grads perform over the course of six days.
