Nova Titans' 6-4 Shortstop Gugino, 2011
Anup Sinha
The Nova Titans are essentially the Nova High School baseball team, in the Fort Lauderdale area.

One player who's drawn attention among college coaches is junior George Gugino, who has an unlikely body for a shortstop.  He's 6-4 and not much more than 160 lbs.  He needs to get a lot stronger to be a pro draft in 2011, but there's a chance he fills out considerably over his last two years in high school.

Gugino shows good reactions and pretty good feet at shortstop.  A lefthanded hitter, he has a smooth stroke but just lacks the strength to generate bat-speed with wood.

Last year, Nova had Michael Broad at shortstop who is currently a freshman at the University of Miami.  Gugino looks nothing like the 5-9 Broad physically, but he may follow in his footsteps as a high-D1 signee.
