WINNINGEST TEAMS, MINOR LEAGUES
It’s not been a great year at the major league level for the San Francisco Giants (49-67, .422), who are in a virtual tie with the Pittsburgh Pirates for the poorest record in the National League. But Giants farm clubs boast the best record in the minor leagues at both the full-season and short-season levels. The Giants’ Augusta club in the low A South Atlantic League is sailing along with a 77-42 (.647) record while their Salem-Keizer affiliate in the short-season Class A Northwest League is a gaudy 42-10 (.808).
